Thaddeus Archer  trumpet, is originally from Berkeley, California.  Mr. Archer received a Master in Music and Performer Diploma from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music under the tutelage of John Rommel.  While at IU, he was an Associate Instructor of trumpet and a two time winner of the Brass Concerto Competition. In Indiana, Thaddeus was a regular member of several area orchestras, the Columbus Indiana Philharmonic, the Bach Collegium of Fort Wayne, and the Owensboro Symphony Orchestra.  This past summer, Mr. Archer performed with the Southern Illinois Music Festival orchestra.  Additional music festivals include the European Music festival in Stuttgart directed by Helmuth Rilling, AIMS in Graz, and the National Repertory Orchestra in Colorado. In addition to orchestral playing, Thaddeus has a passion for both early and new music.  He was the principal trumpet in the IU New Music Ensemble, appearing several times as a featured soloist with that ensemble. He was a three year member of the Bloomington Early Music Festival where he performed various works including Monteverdi’s L’Orfeo, Handel’s Messiah, and Mozart’s Il Re Pastore on period instruments.   Mr. Archer is a part time faculty member at the University of Toledo.  He joined the Toledo Symphony in 2007.  He lives next the Toledo zoo (of which he is a proud member) with his fiancée and hopes to soon get a cat.
